What To Expect

Bring the museum to your classroom, free of charge, with our Museum-in-a-Box activity! Each hands-on box highlights one of our three core galleries: National History, Local History, or Cultural History, and includes interactive materials and activities that make learning immersive and meaningful. Designed to engage students with real-world connections, these boxes encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of African American history without leaving the classroom. To extend the experience, each box also comes with accompanying lesson plans, such as “Create Your Own Museum Exhibit,” which empower students to apply what they’ve learned in creative and meaningful ways.
