Our Current Artists

The AiR (Artist in Residence) program at Thomasville Center for the Arts offers a fresh art perspective to our region, elevating emerging and experienced talent while sparking creative conversations within our community. This teaching artist residency, where resident artists receive studio space in return for teaching opportunities, encourages experimental creativity, collaboration, and shared dialogue with local makers and regional artists. Ron Thomson

Painter in Residence

Ron Thomson grew up in Florida and has worked as a professional oil painter all of his adult life. Since earning his BFA with an emphasis in painting at Florida State University, Thomson has lived and painted in Florida, Oregon, Alabama, Colorado, and Georgia. He is an expressive realist working in oils on canvas. Thomson’s paintings celebrate common and humble subjects elevated by their collaboration with light.
