Youth Arts Month
Youth Arts Month
Administered nationally by the Council for Art Education (CAE), Youth Arts Month is a celebration of the arts! Student exhibitions, public artworks, art festivals, and school events raise awareness and support of the visual arts.
PreK-12th Exhibition + Competition
Annually in March
Schools across Thomas County were invited to unfurl the canvas of their students’ dreams! This platform not only honors the creativity of our students, but also recognizes the teachers who guide their artistic endeavors with awards that fuel their passion for art.
Visual Arts Scholarship Competition
Annually in March
At the Center we believe every student has an artistic side. For those working hard to explore theirs, we’re honored to lift them up and reward their dedication through a juried PreK – 12th grade art competition. One lucky high school senior will win a $1000 scholarship to support their continued training in the visual arts.
Performing Arts Scholarship Competition
Annually in March
As another component of Youth Arts Month, Thomasville Center for the Arts also hosts a competition and scholarship opportunity for high school instrumentalists, pianists, and vocalists. Prizes are awarded up to $1,000 in each category (at the discretion of the judges) and used to further a student’s education in his or her field of competition. This program is in partnership with Thomasville Entertainment Foundation and Thomas University.
